Getting started:

Installing the plugin

PixelPet is available as a plugin for Adobe Photoshop 23.4 and up. Installing the plugin is super easy. You can choose to download the latest version here, or get it from the Adobe Marketplace. Newer versions will appear a bit later on the Marketplace due to Adobe’s review process.

Over to Photoshop

After you’ve run the PixelPet .ccx file, the plugin should show up in the “Creative Cloud Desktop” app, with a dialogue. Click “Install Locally” and then “Ok”. The plugin should instantly show up in Photoshop. If it’s not visible, check if it is listed in the “Plugins” menu in the top menu bar of Photoshop. Close and restart Photoshop if it is missing from there. Should you run into any trouble, please consult our FAQ or let us know on our Discord channel.

Account creation

The plugin will ask you to sign up. Click the sign up button and login with your Google account.

The three PixelPet panels

To keep things organized and easily accessible, we built 3 separate panels for Pixel Pet.

  1. PixelPet: this is the main panel, where you can generate images.

  2. Enhance: for image enhancements such as upscaling and face fix.

  3. Image Picker: when you generate a multiple images, here you can switch between them.

Each panel can be moved, collapsed and closed like you are used to with any other panel in Photoshop. Missing panels can be reopened from the plugin menu in the top bar of Photoshop.

Time to make something!

Now for the fun part: generating images. Make a rectangular selection on the canvas. Go to the PixelPet panel and enter what you would like to see in the prompt field and click generate. Creating a good prompt can be challenging for new users. Please refer to our Tips page for a tour of the plugin or to our FAQ for help. We are also happy to help you on our Discord channel.

Credits

Upon registering with Pixel Pet, you will receive 100 free credits to generate images. How much credits each image costs, depends on your settings, but this should get you a long way. For specific calculations about this, check the PixelPet pricing page.
